    About The Course

    The heady opportunities available in a high growth economy amidst global technological disruption encourage business leaders to craft and execute business strategies for sustained growth. Growth, however, poses several challenges and successful management of growth strategies require careful crafting by managers. Rapid growth often introduces novel complexities in organizations. New forms and modes of coordination of work, processes and practices are needed to be designed and managed. This program is aimed at addressing such concerns so that managers can make more deliberated choices around options of growth.

    The inputs in this program have been designed with a strategy eye, and a ‘general management’ focus. It will deal explicitly with issues of power, control and governance, including designing of such systems as to enable the realization of desired control. Managing and designing the internal systems and environment of the organization as well as designing inter-organizational cooperation and coordination arrangements will be major focus areas of the program. Managing growth is not only an economic question of organizational financial performance, but extends far beyond into managing identities, aspirations, expectations of various stakeholders around an organization

    An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, Professor Biswatosh Saha’s previous academic work experience spreads across XLRI Jamshedpur and Vinod Gupta School of Management (IIT Kharagpur). Professor Saha teaches ‘Strategic Management’, and ‘Strategy as Practice’ at the Master’s level, and ‘Strategy as Practice’ at the doctoral level. He also teaches specialised electives on ‘Entrepreneurship in Practice’, ‘Corporate Entrepreneurship’, ‘Managing New Ventures’ and ‘Corporate Social Irresponsibility’ His research lies in the domains of organisational renewal and entrepreneurship especially in post colonial settings, critical management studies, strategy-as-practice, and digital economy and complexity.
    Professor Kaushik Roy teaches ‘Management Games’ (using Capstone Simulation), ‘Strategic Management’ and ‘Vision to Execution’ at the Master’s level, and ‘Doctoral Seminar on the Evolution of Strategic Management – I’ at the doctoral level. He also teaches the specialised electives of ‘Strategies in High-velocity Environments’ and ‘Coopetition’. His research lies at the fascinating intersection of competitive strategy and international business.
    In his doctoral thesis at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), he investigated the development of dynamic capabilities in international joint ventures. He also examines successful business models of social enterprises. He has been published in international journals like Thunderbird International Business Review and Management Decision.
