Columbia Health Executive Education: Global Management Program is an 11-month program in association with the Department of Health Policy & Management at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Chair and Professor of Health Policy and Management at The Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. He studies and writes about the politics of health care, with a particular emphasis on the health insurance and health delivery systems for low-income populations, and the ways in which inter-governmental relations influences policy, both in the U.S. and abroad. He is a two-time winner of the Mailman School’s Student Government Association Teacher of the Year Award, as well as the recipient of a 2010 Columbia University Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching.
Yuna S.H. Lee, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management, at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She is a health care management researcher, and studies how the health care industry can promote innovation and improvement from within their care delivery organizations by fostering staff creativity. Dr. Lee holds an MPH and PhD from the Yale School of Public Health, and has experience working in public health departments, academic medical centers, consultancies and research think tanks, in New York City and internationally.
John Winkleman teaches Healthcare Marketing, is the director of the Consulting Workshop and provides counsel and is a coach for the HealthSquare Simulation model. He is also a senior judge for the annual Healthcare Management and Delivery Case Challenge.
Bhaven Sampat, PhD, is an economist by training, centrally interested in issues at the intersection of health policy and innovation policy. His current projects examine the political economy of the National Institutes of Health. the effects of patents on access to medicines in India, the interactions between patent laws and FDA regulation in the pharmaceutical industry, the determinants of patent quantity in the U.S. patent system and challenges to evidence-based medicine in contexts of rapid technological change.
